A representative of the ministry also stated that Beijing could implement its own unrevealed “responsive actions” if the US President follows through on his warning, emphasizing that the country was “unafraid” of a possible trade conflict.

On Friday, Donald Trump responded at China’s decision to reinforce its regulations for overseas sales of critical elements, alleging China of “becoming very hostile” and attempting to hold the world “hostage”.

Additionally, he vowed to pull out of a arranged summit with China’s President President Xi, which was arranged for a summit in Seoul before the month ends.

Trump’s comments on Friday shook global markets, with the S&P 500 dropping over two and a half percent, marking its biggest drop since April.

These statements reignited concerns of a commercial dispute between the US and China.
